How many languages can Lukaku speak?

Someone told me this the other day, I sorted of nodded and said oh right and then selfishly thought I don’t really care how many languages Lukaku can speak. I currently just wanted him talking the goal scoring language and putting the ball in the back of the net. He’s had his critics recently but I’m not one of them specifically, if we create for him he will score and he proved that at the start of the season when he and the rest of the team were firing on all cylinders.

Recently the goals have dried up and I think he only scored one goal in the month of November and that is not good enough, however the guy needs chances. That is what has dried up recently, we all know he’s not the most skillful or creative but if we get the ball quickly into him on either his head or left foot he will score. Long term we all want him doing more for the team and in time I believe that will come. He has some much to learn still.

He’s good at learning remember, he speaks lots of different languages. Five incidentally, French, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish, English of course and apparently he does understand German. Come on United, if we’re playing Lukaku up top let’s start finding him more often. Happy December anyway, below are our fixtures and pre-match predictions:

Saturday 2nd December Premier League Arsenal 1 v Manchester United 3
Emirates Stadium (Att: 59,547)
Lacazette (49)
Valencia (4), Lingard (11, 63), Pogba (74 sent off)

The Stretford Enders pre-match match predictions:
Myself 2-1 United
Stuart 1-0 United
Oliver 2-2 draw
Barry 1-0 United
Claire 1-1 draw
Kevin 2-1 United

An outstanding game of football, thoroughly entertaining for both sets of fans as well as the neutral. We could have lost, we could have won by more, it could have been a 4-4 draw. De Gea with some truly outstanding save.

Tuesday 5th December Champions League Manchester United 2 v CSKA Moscow 1
Old Trafford (Att: 74,669)
Lukaku (64), Rashford (66)
Vitinho (45)

The Stretford Enders pre-match match predictions:
Myself 2-0 United
Stuart 3-0 United
Oliver 1-0 United
Barry 1-0 United
Claire 2-1 United  –  well done to Claire
Kevin 3-0 United

Awkward moment when they scored, we’d had enough chances first half to be in the lead but missed chances once again. Need to just be dispatching teams like this. Good European campaign overall so far. Roll on the draw.

Sunday 10th December Premier League Manchester United 1 v Manchester City 2
Old Trafford (Att: 74,847)
Rashford (45+2)
D Silva (43), Otamendi (54)

The Stretford Enders pre-match match predictions:
Myself 2-1 United
Stuart 2-0 City
Oliver 1-1 draw
Barry 1-0 City
Claire 2-1 United
Kevin 1-1 draw

City are a fantastic football team currently, I’m taking nothing away from them at all and they deserved their win today. Considering the amount of chances they’ve created recently we restricted them quite well but you cannot allow a team to come to your own back yard and dominant with the ball for so long. We needed to get at them!

Wednesday 13th December Premier League Manchester United 1 v 0 Bournemouth
Old Trafford (Att: 74,798)
Lukaku (25)

The Stretford Enders pre-match match predictions:
Myself 2-0 United
Stuart 3-0 United
Oliver 1-0 United  –  well done to Oliver
Barry 1-0 United  –  well done to Barry
Claire 2-1 United
Kevin 3-0 United

On a truly awful evening weather wise we got the job done. Up until Lukaku scored though Bournemouth were playing some nice stuff and did for most of the match. Missed chances from both sides though and it could have been a completely different game. Shaw did well and young McTominay is growing in confidence all the time.

Sunday 17th December Premier League West Bromwich Albion 1 v Manchester United 2
The Hawthorns (Att: 24,782)
Barry (77)
Lukaku (27), Lingard (35)

The Stretford Enders pre-match match predictions:
Myself 2-1 United  –  well done me
Stuart 2-0 United
Oliver 2-1 United  –  well done to Oliver
Barry 3-0 United
Claire 2-1 United  –  well done to Claire
Kevin 2-1 United  –  well done to Kevin

2-0 up and cruising until they scored. Lingard was excellent, he never stopped running and deserved his goal. Those last fifteen minutes were hairy though and towards the end of match it looked like we would let another in.

Wednesday 20th December Carabao Cup Bristol City 2 v Manchester United 1
Ashton Gate (Att: 26,088)
Bryan (51), Smith (90+3)
Ibrahimovic (58)

The Stretford Enders pre-match match predictions:
Myself 3-0 United
Stuart 2-1 United
Oliver 1-1 United
Barry 1-1 United
Claire 2-0 United
Kevin 3-0 United

Beaten by a team that wanted it more on the night. We did okay and could have had the game wrapped up with chances created but they kept coming at us and just as it looked like extra-time was coming we were caught out.

Saturday 23rd December Premier League Leicester City 2 v Manchester United 2
The King Power Stadium (Att: 32,202)
Vardy (27), Amartey (73 sent off), Maguire (90+4)
Mata (40, 60)

The Stretford Enders pre-match match predictions:
Myself 2-1 United
Stuart 3-1 United
Oliver 2-1 United
Barry 2-2 United
Claire 2-1 United
Kevin 2-0 United

We Looked liked we might concede a late goal against both Bournemouth and West Brom but got away with it. Against Bristol City we didn’t and once again we have let in another late goal. Well played Mata though.

Tuesday 26th December Premier League Manchester United 2 v Burnley 2
Old Trafford (Att: 75,046)
Lingard (53, 90+1)
Barnes (3),S Defour (36)

The Stretford Enders pre-match match predictions:
Myself 1-0 United
Stuart 2-0 United
Oliver 1-1 draw  –  nearly Oliver
Barry 1-0 United
Claire 2-1 United
Kevin 1-0 United

Shocking defending for their first goal, Rojo stupid to even give away the free-kick in the first place. Then no header won or anyone throwing themselves at Barnes’ shot. Not impressed. Cracking goal from Defour. Thankfully Mourinho knew it wasn’t working and second half we went full on attack with the substitutions made. I was confident we still wouldn’t lose but just left it a little too late to try to get the actual winner. Shaw looked good again.

Saturday 30th December Premier League Manchester United 0 v Southampton 0
Old Trafford (Att: 75,051)

The Stretford Enders pre-match match predictions:
Myself 2-0 United
Stuart 3-0 United
Oliver 1-0 United
Barry 1-0 United
Claire 2-1 United
Kevin 3-0 United

Poor game, poor atmosphere, poor effort from a lot of players against a terrible Southampton team. Still, we stick with our team and go onto the next game and into the New Year supporting our great club. Happy New Year all.
